RAMONA HENDERSON PEARSON is founder and President of The Pearson Group, LLC., d/b/a Healthy, Wealthy, Wise, LLC, Business Office Consultants, LLC, and Ramona H. Pearson, CPA, P.C. Ms. Pearson is licensed to offer financial planning and investment advisory services through Planners Alliance, LLC, a Registered Investment Adviser. She is insurance licensed for health, life and long-term care. Ms. Pearson is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has distinguished herself in three areas: financial planning/retirement planning, public accounting and consulting services, and tax compliance. She and her staff of seven serve a wide range of individuals, governments, educational institutions and nonprofit organizations in Michigan, Washington, D.C., Nevada, Maryland, Louisiana and Texas.
Her long and storied career has included service as Wayne County Auditor General, Chief Executive Officer and Head of School for Herlong Cathedral School in Detroit, and Emergency financial Manager for the City of Highland Park, Michigan. While Auditor General for Wayne County (Michigan), Ramona constructed and implemented the first comprehensive audit function under the new Wayne County Charter. In 1999, Ms. Pearson focused her attention on the need for increased access to investing by middle class Americans. This move complimented her membership in the AICPA Personal Financial Planning Division which she joined when it was started in 1984. Pearson is currently a candidate for the CRPC designation: Chartered Retirement Planning Specialist by the College for Financial Planning.
Pearson holds a B.A. in Accounting from Morgan State University (summa cum laude) and an M.B.A. from the University of Detroit. She is a member of: the Financial Planning Association of Michigan; the American Institute of CPAs (former member of its Council representing Michigan as well as the AICPA Futures Committee); AICPA Personal Financial Planning Division; AICPA PCPS Committee; and the National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (former National President and currently on its Finance Committee).
Pearson has a passion for learning and education as an instrument of learning, having taught at the college level and participated as a workshop leader or keynote speaker in conferences all over the country. Pearson’s newest self-set challenges include: CRPC membership; igniting 50,000 to become investors over the next 5 years; publishing her graduate thesis paper: Women in Financial Planning and publishing the book, Roommates for Retirement © and The Roommate Solution©.
When not working, Pearson loves to play golf, read historical novels and do-it-yourself books, and attend Bible Study.
